Ford F-150

Ford offers eight trims for the F-150: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited. The XL has power and heated side mirrors, keyless entry, and a locking tailgate with a lift assist. The XLT rolls down the road on 17-inch alloy wheels and includes chrome bumpers, while the Lariat sits atop 18-inch chrome wheels and adds power-folding heated side mirrors and driver's side LED spotlights. Finally, the Limited upgrades you with a twin-panel moonroof and 22-inch wheels.

There are several engines for the Ford F-150, with availability dependent on the trim and year you select. The base engine is a 3.3-liter producing 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The second engine is a twin intercooled turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 making 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Engine number three is the updated version of the well-known 5.0-liter V-8 engine putting out 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

The last three engines are all a version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. The first one is the Powerboost version which will crank out 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. A full-hybrid option of the Powerboost is also available that churns out a combined 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. Finally, an exclusive version of the 3.5-liter engine, available only for the Raptor, is an EcoBoost high-output twin-turbo HO with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.

Ford has added many performance enhancements to the F-150, making each drive more fun. Maximum towing capacities start at 8,200 pounds and go up to 14,000, depending on your configuration, and the range of maximum payload capacities is from 1,840 pounds to 3,250 pounds. The standard for most of the trims is rear-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available as an option. With selectable drive modes that consist of Normal, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Eco, and Trail, you can set the ride configuration to match your preferences or the current road conditions.

Inside the Ford F-150, you'll discover an interior created for form and function. The XL features a Wi-Fi hotspot, an 8-inch touchscreen that powers the Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system, wireless phone connectivity, and optional cloth seating. Move up to the King Ranch, and you add exclusive embroidered upholstery, heated seating with interior wood accents, and a wireless charger. Finally, if you go with the Tremor, upgrades include a premium B&O sound system, a flow-through center console, a larger 12-inch touch screen, and exclusive orange-stitched black cloth seats.

Safety features for the Ford F-150 include the Ford Co-Pilot360 system, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a forward collision warning, and automatic high-beam lights. In addition, standard safety features include a rearview camera with trailer hitch guidance, wiper-activated headlights, and rear parking sensors. Opting for one of the upper trims, you'll find available safety features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-departure warning.
