Ford Escape

The Ford Escape comes in four primary trim levels: the S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. All but the S are also available as a conventional hybrid or plug-in hybrid model. If you want to give your Escape a tougher personality, you can equip it with the SE Sport Appearance Package or SEL Stealth AWD Package to get black exterior accents. Most of the Escape models are equipped with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine that delivers 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. If you upgrade to the Titanium, the available 2.5-liter hybrid system that produces 200 total horsepower becomes standard. The SEL and Titanium can also be equipped with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The Escape gets up to 28 mpg in the city and 34 on the highway with its gasoline-exclusive engine. The hybrid models can get up to 41 combined mpg.

The available all-wheel-drive system with a disconnect feature kicks into action when you need more traction and disconnects when the roads are clear, helping you increase your fuel economy. The five-seater Escape has 60/40-split rear seats that slide forward and fold down to let you customize your cabin for more cargo or more passenger space. The Escape offers a maximum of 65.4 cubic feet of cargo space. For cozy cabin features such as automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel, aim for the SEL level.

Tech features include the Titanium's available 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen studio system with a subwoofer, a wireless phone charging pad, and a head-up display. The S has a 4.2-inch central screen, but the SE upgrades you to an 8-inch touch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
